About The Films
Young Mozambican women use hip hop to fight for women's rights, respect for the rural population and equality in the capital, Maputo. Two musical portraits made by students of the Instituto Superior de Arte e Cultura (ISArC), a live performance and a short film introducing you to some of the themes behind the film "Rhythm, Art, Poetry and Life"
About The Film-Makers
The film-makers behind both the hip hop portraits are themselves involved in the hip hop scene in Maputo, the director and cameraman of Rhythm, Art, Poetry and Life, Lutegardo Lampiao, and the director of Crossing Paths, Castigo Sive are both recording hip hop artists in Maputo, a city they have both lived all thei lives.
